Yes the Open Day is free of charge. You only are required to complete the registration form.
The scientific and technical talks of the Open Day are aimed at an audience of life scientists (researchers, PhD students and post-docs) that are thinking to apply the RNA-seq technology to carry out their research, in particular on non-model organisms.
No. The course has a registration fee of €150,00. This fee DOES NOT include accommodation and dinners, but it INCLUDES coffee breaks and lunches.
The course is not designated for hardcore bioinformaticians; however, participants are requested to have a basic understanding of the BASH command line and the Linux operating system. We expect that the participants are life scientists who have already produced RNA-seq data, or that are planning to use such a technology and are looking for the best practice to analyze these type of data.
The course is for 25 participants.
We expect to have a significant demand for this course. We will select participants according to their profile and to their answers to the self evaluation test. The results of the selection of the course applicants will be notificated by 10 MAY 2016.
Ten registration fee scholarships will be awarded to selected participants by Elixir-Italy.
